William Jacobs, 100 years old of Boca Raton, formerly of Jefferson Hills/Clairton passed away on August 11, 2023. He was born in McKeesport Hospital on March 12, 1923, to Jacob Mike Jacobs and Naffa Audi Jacobs (immigrants from Lebanon). William (Jake) has rejoined his beloved wife, Dolores Richel Jacobs (she was one of 10 siblings).
William (Jake) was preceded in death by six sisters and brothers (Manira, Nazara, Annie, Evelyn, Michael & George).
He is survived by his three children, Linda Costolo, William Jacobs & Dennis Jacobs. Margaret George, 99 years old from Lebanon, KY is his only surviving sibling. William has a plethora of grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Florida and Texas. William also has a slew of nieces and nephews located all over the world.
William (Jake) graduated Clairton High School to go into the Army for the Second World War. He is a WWII veteran and has been awarded the Purple Heart. Michael Jacobs and George Jacobs, his brothers, were also veterans of WWII and the Korean War respectively.
William retired from US Steel (Clairton Works) after about 35 years. He was an avid gardener, producing grapes, various fruits, vegetables, walnuts, and blackberries on his property. Above all, William loved his family members, of which there are many. William was a quiet man, living by the saying “Talk only when it is an improvement to the silence”. He will be missed by all that knew him. His journey continues!
