Robert C. Large

Robert C. Large, 86 of Uniontown, formerly of Large, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Uniontown Hospital. Bob was born in Large, PA on February 27, 1935, to the late Thomas and Margaret Wallace Large. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Samuel, Austin, Harry, and Thomas. Robert is survived by his sister Margaret Beam of Jefferson, his niece Shirley Rhodes, many nieces and nephews, and also his best friend Bernie Hornsby. 

He was a former member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir and later joined the New Beginnings Covenant Church in Uniontown.

Even though Robert lived with the effects of polio for 66 years, he persevered to have a full and active life. He worked many jobs including as the night manager of the Three Rivers Bank. Traveling and showing his horses was the hobby he loved most. He was a member of the PA Appaloosa Club, PA Quarter Horse Association, and the Tri-State Quarter Horse Association. 

In later years, he was the entertainment organizer for his senior residence. Planning holiday events and many fun parties to brighten the days and encourage fellowship was a pleasure for him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to S.M. Finney Funeral Home, 432 N. 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025, with a private service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the New Beginnings Covenant Church at 171 Connellsville St., Uniontown, PA 15401.
