Delbert Ivan Pavlick

Delbert “Pav” Ivan Pavlick, 90, of Clairton, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. He was born March 29, 1928 in Duquesne to the late Samuel and Mary Hollish Pavlick. Delbert was a loving husband for 43 years to the late Edith A. Azzari Pavlick. He is survived, and will be greatly missed, by his adoring daughters, Valerie Pavlick-Gnazzo of Clairton, Adrianne (Curtis) Pavlick-Miller also of Clairton, Michele (Claude) Sims of Port Vue; grandchildren, Zachary, Athena (Nathan), Jared, Xavier, Lennox (Garrett), Santeaun, Hunter; and brother, Samuel (Mabel) Pavlick of Florida; nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife, Delbert was preceded in death by granddaughter, BreAnne; and sisters, Margaret Pearson & Ethel Pavlick. He was a proud veteran having served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Delbert was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Duquesne, was employed by the US postal service for 56 years, was an avid golfer, enjoyed softball, bowling and even played football in the army while he was stationed in Japan, and was the basketball coach at St. Clare of Assisi for 37 years. In 2005, he won “PA’s Outstanding Older Worker” award which is a prestigious national award given to elder workers (only 1 per state) to acknowledge their years in the workforce. He was a proud and loving man who would help anybody at any time, especially his family. Visitation will take place Friday August 10, 2018 from 3 – 9 pm at S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025. A service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:30 am followed by entombment at Lebanon Church Cemetery.
