Robert Ackland "Fest" Walmsley

Robert Ackland "Fest" Walmsley, 63, of Youngwood, formerly of Clairton, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015. He was born May 5, 1952, in Mt. Pleasant, to the late Ackland R. Walmsley and Margaret Mullen Walmsley, of Clairton. Robert is survived by his wife, Debra Murphy Walmsley, of Clairton; daughter, Starr N. Walmsley, of Whitehall; brothers, James R. (Gina) Walmsley, of Mercer, and Timothy S. (Christine) Walmsley, of McKean; sister, Debra Walmsley (Roy) Erhardt; uncle, Charles Mullen, of Indiana; and nieces and nephews, Krista, Patrick, Amber, Jimmy, Timmy and Jenna. Along with his father, Robert was preceded in death by sister, Kathy A. Walmsley Kinder. He was employed as a crew leader for US Steel Clairton Works for 22 years, a veteran of the Navy, where he served from 1971-1977, a train enthusiast and was interested in rocket launching, fishing and video games. He was also an avid Steelers and NASCAR fan. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. Sixth St., Clairton, PA 15025. Service will take place at 12 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, at the funeral home, presided by Father Charles Baptiste. Interment will follow service at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made to the funeral home in Roberts' name to help defray funeral costs.
