Nancy L. Smith Obituary

Nancy L. Smith, 76, of West Mifflin, passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at the Center of Compassionate Care in Mt. Lebanon. She was born Feb. 16, 1935, in McKeesport, to the late Kenneth C. Kelly and Bonnie N. Close Kelly Wallace and was the stepdaughter to the late Rose Papick Kelly and Everett Wallace. She was a lifetime resident of the area and was a school guard in West Mifflin Borough. She was a member of the Elizabeth Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 542, and former Mother Adviser of the Rainbow Girls of Vesper 117 in Clairton and a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Melvin F. Smith, of West Muffin; son, John P. Smith, of Brookville; daughters, Deborah A. (Robert) Gibson, of West Mifflin, and Judith L. Smith, of Monreoville; grandchildren, Kimberly Gill, Jennifer Smith, Kelly Gibson, Joseph Smith, Jason Smith, Nicole Goodrum and DJ Goodrum; great-grandchildren, R.J. Gill, Madison Smith, Cassie Smith, Joseph Smith and Corey Goodrum; half-sisters, Elizabeth B. Napoliton, of Wheeling, W.Va., and Roberta A. (Michael) Hicks, of Clairton; stepsister, Elizabeth (Paul) Burati, of Spice Wood, Texas; and stepbrothers, Phillip (Bonnie) Papick, of Leander, Texas, and Joseph (Margaret) Papick, of Cypress, Texas; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, William D. Kelly, of Clairton, and Douglas Kelly, of West Mifflin. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. Sixth St., Clairton. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Father Frank Siler officiating. Interment will follow at Lebanon Church Cemetery.
