Joseph Hoyt Tachoir, 93, of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014. He was the beloved husband of the late LaVonne Luntz Tachoir. Joseph was the son of the late Robert A. Tachoir and the late Amanda Veitch Tachoir. He is survived by one son, Joseph C. Tachoir, of West Mifflin; sister, Agnes Rushe, of Glassport; sister, Catherine Odoski, of West Mifflin; sister, Frances Shultz, of Duquesne, and friend, neighbor and caregiver, Eileen Schmidt, of West Mifflin. Joseph was a World War II veteran of the Army, serving in the Asiatic Pacific. He was a member of Holy Angels Church in Hays. Joseph was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Leo, Tom, Forest, Jack and Pat; and a sister, Lois White. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at I.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME in Dravosburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, in Holy Angels Church, Hays. Interment, with military honors, will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans
