Isabel H. (McDowell) Petek

Isabel H. (McDowell) Petek, 97, of Dravosburg, formerly of Alexandria, VA, for 74 years and 21 years in Clairton. Born December 13, 1909, in Clairton, died February 1, 2007, in Dravosburg. She retired in 1969 after 33 1/2 years service as a tax law specialist for the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, DC. She was a member of the Del Ray United Methodist Church in Alexandria, VA. She was a Business School graduate. She was a member of the National Association Retired Federal Employees Chapter 236 Alexandria, VA, the AARP in Alexandria, VA. She received the Albert Gallatin Award as evidence of esteem and work contribution to the US Government. She was the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Elsie Sutter McDowell. She is predeceased by her husband Michael Petek in 1997. Surviving are her niece and caregiver Gayle (Butch) Smith and several other nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Gladys (Ben) Richards, Evelyn (Clark) Foster, Arlene (John) Nosich, Amon (Sophie), Joseph (Helen), Walter (Vernonica), Dale (Martha), Jay (Alma) McDowell. Family suggests contributions to the Heartland Hospice, 400 Hempfield Plaza Blvd., Suite 992, Greensburg 15601. Friends received in the I.M. Finney Funeral Home, 203 Fourth and Richland Aves., Dravosburg, 2-4, 7-9 pm Monday. Funeral Tuesday at 10:35 am from the funeral home, the Rev. Ben Robinson officiating. Entombment in Jefferson Memorial Park Mausoleum.
