Helen Doratio Depiero Obituary

Helen Doratio Depiero, 91, of Glassport, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born February 20, 1918, in Glassport, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Virginia Cole Doratio. She was a former factory worker for the Glass House in Glassport and Sabins China Company in McKeesport. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Glassport and the Church Ladies Uplift Circle and was very active in church activities. She was a lifetime member. She was the wife of the late Salvatore DePiero who died in 2006. She is survived by one sone, Daniel (Rita) DePiero of Glassport; one daughter, Judith (Sal) D’Appollonio of Port Vue; grandchildren Cindy Kubula of Glassport, Tori (David) Verbanick of Glassport, Melissa DePiero of Glassport, Melanie (David) Rothwell of North Huntingdon, Marie Chonko of Pittsburgh and Elizabeth Berry of Ontario, Canada; seven great-grandchildren; two deceased sisters; three deceased brothers; nieces and nephews. Visitation is Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the E.C. Finney Funeral Home, 235 Monongahela Ave., Glassport. Funeral service is Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 10 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ, Michigan Avenue in Glassport with the Rev. David Nolfi. Interment is in Jefferson Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to her church.
