David McDowell Berry

David McDowell Berry, 81, of McMurray (formerly McKeesport, PA), died March 17, 2007, at his home. He was born November 26, 1925 in McKeesport to the late Ralph and Helen McDowell Berry. Mr. Berry graduated from McKeesport High School, received a B.S. in Geology from University of Pittsburgh and attended Lafayette College. He was a former chemical engineer for Dravo Corp. & the Swindel Dreshler Co. in Bowmont, TX, was a US Army WWII veteran serving in Germany, member of the Center Presbyterian Church in McMurray and the Washington Elks Lodge. Mr. Berry was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth ALice Smith Berry; and one brother, Ralph S. Berry. Survivors include a son, Ralph E. (Rhonda) Berry of Colleyville, TX; daughter, Susan Elizabeth (Andy) Staley of Meadowlands, PA; sister, Olive Nelson of West Chester, PA; grandchildren, Halle, Hunter & Hannah; also nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the I.M. Finney Funeral Home Inc., 203 Fourth St., Dravosburg, PA. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11 am from the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Richland Cemetery.
