Cornelius "Corny" Sherman Wood

Cornelius “Corny” S. Wood, 77, of Clairton, formerly of Wilkinsburg, passed away at home on Saturday November 7, 2015. He was born December 3, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Horatious and Annie Wood. Cornelius is survived by his significant other of 15 years, Connie J Sherman Judy; son, Travis (Takel) Shavers of Richmond, VA and granddaughters Taniya and Tristan; stepdaughter, Leslie (Rich) Gilmer of North Versailles; stepson, Bill Davis of Clairton; step granddaughters, Hayley and Charlotte; and sister Doris Hill of Cleveland, OH. Cornelius worked in the custodial division at Mayview Hospital, enjoyed watching movies and was an avid sports fan. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday November 11, 2015 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at S M FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025. Service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday November 12, 2015 at 11 am presided by Pastor Ben Robinson. Interment will follow at Richland Cemetery in Dravosburg.
