Obituary

Clifford J. “Big Cliff” Warner, 74 of Jefferson Hills, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on Thursday, September 1st, 2022, surrounded by his beloved family at his home. He was born in McKeesport on March 27th, 1948, to the late Clifford R. and Grace Zewe Warner. Clifford was the loving husband of 50 years to Sharon E. Humphrey Warner, who lovingly cared for him in sickness and in health. He is survived by his wife, as well as son Clifford R. (Elizabeth) Warner of Boston and daughter Alethea E. (Alfred) Filippelli of Bethel Park. Further survivors include his sister Evelyn (Mike) Shanley of West Mifflin and grandchildren Olivia, Lexie, Jakob, Lucca, and Lilly, as well as his loving cat Yodi. He was a sergeant in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and later worked as a Union Railroad signalman and Union Chairman for 36 years, sold insurance for A. L. Williams and American General, as well as a bus driver and monitor for Jefferson Hills School District. As the Union Chairman, he fought in Chicago for and obtained Wives’ Pension Eligibility. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen, an active member of the NRA, and was a God fearing Christian and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Monongahela. He was passionately involved in both local and state politics, taking a special interest in the Constitution’s Second Amendment rights. He loved spending summers with his family at their cabin, which was his favorite place to be. Clifford was an avid reader who felt passionately about pursuing knowledge. He was a great husband, father, brother, grandfather, and a friend to many, and he will be missed. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Advanced Home Care nurses and therapist as well as hospice nurse Debbie. They would also like to thank Jared Nolfi, Ed Donkin, Bob Nicklow, and friends at the bus garage. Special thanks to Tammy and Jamie, who worked with Clifford for 7 years, as well as Dr. Mitro from Davita Clinic. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022, from 2-4 P.M and 6-8 P.M at S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025.
