Benjamin Scott Dickey

Benjamin Scott Dickey, 69, of Tidioute, formerly of West Hickory and Butler, died surrounded by his daughters on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at UPMC Hamot in Erie. He was born in Butler on September 12, 1953, to the late Ben Smith and Betty Lou Schiek Dickey. He is survived by his children; Aaron (Danielle) Dickey, of Butler, Angela (Jeremy) Dickey, of Glassport, and Stephanie (Steven) Cline, of Frewsburg, NY, sisters; Linda (Steve) Moore of Ohio, Diane (Dave) Olenic, of Butler, grandchildren; Athena “Baine”, Keara, and Nathan. As well as nieces and nephews. Ben also leaves behind some very good, and very patient friends, his dog Sarah and Stripe Cat. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in the USAF Clinic in Kadena, Okinawa as a medic. Later on, Ben returned to Butler, PA to work at Armco Steel, from where he retired. He enjoyed camouflage, guns, flirting with women, knowing everything, and always being right. He had an insatiable appetite for knowledge in many subjects, and a skill for tinkering, building, and fixing things; well most things. He never did get that damned airboat running for a full season.   Ben will be sorely missed by those that loved him. He wasn’t always easy to handle, and was known to be fussy, but was a good friend, and a great Dad. His daughters will be forever thankful for all the things that he taught them to do, rather than simply doing it for them. He was one of a kind, and to those that loved him, the world is a better place by knowing him. Arrangements have been entrusted to his daughter at E.C.
