History & Staff

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

Our History

The first settlers in this area came in during the last quarter of the eighteenth century. For nearly a century, settlement in Mifflin Township was mainly agricultural. Naturally, transportation in those early days was by horse, and there was a demand for a first-class livery to care for these valued creatures.

That’s where Mr. E. C. Finney and Mr. J. Will Martin step into local history. Their livery occupied a large frame building, was modernly equipped and well-stocked with the best horses and fancy vehicles, and they were well-known as a feed and boarding stable.

As was common for the time, connected with the livery was an undertaking establishment. You see both men were graduates of the Pittsburg College of Embalming, and had several years of practical experience in funeral directions and embalming.

The firm was the first undertaking business of the town, and grew in proportion to the growth of the surrounding communities. The founders established a tradition of excellence in service, which we proudly carry on today.
