Jane Carner Guffey

Jane (Carner) Guffey, 85, of Washington, formerly of Clairton and Elizabeth Township, passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at Strabane Woods Wellness Center. She was born May 18, 1929, in Clairton, to the late George and Lavera Smith Carner. Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Cecil W. Guffey Jr., in 2010. She is survived by two daughters, Jill C. Guffey, of Forward Township, and Jan E. (Ken) Warner, of Nottingham Township; and one son, Richard C. (Susan) Guffey, of Washington. Jane is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Nancy MacRill. She was a 4-H leader and a seamstress. She was very artistic and enjoyed working with crafts. Jane was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township, D.A.R. Queen Alliquippa Chapter in McKeesport and O.E.S Chapter in Clairton. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at the S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. Sixth St., Clairton, PA 15025. Service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at the funeral home. Interment to take place at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Cecil Township, Washington County, PA 15017. Online condolences may be offered at www.finneyfuneralhome.com.
