Freda Emery Cooley

Freda Emery Cooley, 91, of Dravosburg, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at J.J. Kane Regional Nursing Center in McKeesport. She was born March 31, 1923, in Dravosburg, to the late David and Elizabeth Matthis Emery. Freda, who was loved by all, is survived by one brother, James R. (Nancy) Emery, of Alachua, Fla.; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Freda was preceded in death in 1983 by her beloved husband, Richard Frances Cooley. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Huston and Ruth Lueckert McCurry; and three brothers, David, Fred and Roy Emery. She lived her entire life in the Dravosburg area, was employed by Equibank Corp. for 40 years, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Dravosburg, was a member of Amity Presbyterian Church in Dravosburg, AARP in Versailles and Dravosburg Senior Citizens. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at I.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 203 Fourth St., Dravosburg, PA 15034. Service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at the funeral home presided by Pastor Bruce Mounts. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amity Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.
