Emmett Gouker Obituary

Emmett Lee Gouker, 69, a lifetime Jefferson Hills resident passed away Tuesday, September 13th, 2016 in Allegheny General Hospital from complications that arose after a stroke. Herby, as he was affectionately called, was born April 6th, 1947 at the family's homestead. He loved old music, old movies, and his 3 little dogs, Chrissy, Pooh, and Foxy. Herby was the 12th of 13 children of Helma Smitley Gouker and Francis Gouker, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Francis Gouker and Clyde Gouker, sister Doloras Gray, and 2 infant brothers. Herby is survived by brothers and sisters: Beatrice Little, Grace Williams, Lorraine Mossburg, Harold (Beverly) Gouker, Beverly (Tom) Stoker, Eileen (Donald) Pennel, and Kenneth (Marie) Gouker plus countless nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received at Finney's Funeral Home, 432 N 6th St, Clairton, PA 15025 (Wilson) on Friday, September 16th, 2016 from 2pm - 4pm and from 6pm - 8pm. Services will be held at Finney's 10am on the morning of Saturday, September 17th, 2016. Life is just a stopping place a pause in what's to be, a resting place along the road to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, different paths along the way. We were all meant to learn some things but never meant to stay... our destination is a place far greater than we know. For some the journey's quicker, for some the journey's slow. And when the journey finally ends, we'll claim a great reward, for then we'll find everlasting peace together with our Lord. Forever in our hearts.
