Edward T. Halt

Edward T. “Bud” Halt, 88, of Clairton, passed away at Jefferson Regional Medical Center on Saturday, March 21, 2015. He was born March 31, 1926, in Clairton, to the late Frank and Kathryn Coulson Halt. Edward was the loving husband of the late Helen L Lauterbach Halt who passed away in 2008. He is survived by son; Russell (Colleen) Halt of Jefferson; daughters; Carol (Alan) Scheiber of Forward Township; Beth (Bill) Mellott of Bethel Park; 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and his beloved dog Tony. Along with his wife and parents, Edward was preceded in death by his sister Hazel Halt and his cherished dog Mia. Living his entire life in Clairton, Edward graduated from Clairton High School in 1944, served in the U S Army in WW II, stationed in Hawaii, was employed by U S Steel Clairton Works for, 40 years, as a Supervisor in the electrical department. He loved animals and was a member of the SPCA. Family and Visitation will take place on Wednesday March 25, 2015 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM at S. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th Street, Clairton, PA 15025. Service will take place Thursday March 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home presided by Pastor Lota Jones. Interment immediately follows the service at Lebanon Church Cemetery. Contributions in Edward’s name can be to the Western PA Humane Society, 1101 Western Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
