Edith "Edie" Clapper

Edith Jane “Edie” Clapper, 82, of Cherry Tree, PA, formerly of Cortez, CO, and Dennehotso, AZ, passed away at Indiana Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. She was born on February 11, 1934 in Irwin to the late Andrew and Ruth Guisler Clapper. Edith is survived by her twin sister Ethel M. Smith of Cherry Tree; sister Esther F. Smith of St. Petersburg, FL; many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Dalvin Smith. Edith received a Master’s degree in Education, was an Elementary school teacher at Dennehotso Indian Reservation in AZ & Lakeview Elementary School in Cortez, and was a member of Kenwood Church of the Nazarene in Clymer & member of McKeesport Free Methodist Church for 18 years. Family and friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm on Sunday July 24, 2016 at I. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 203 4TH Street, Dravosburg, PA 15034. Service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 10:00 am presided by Rev. William Degenkolb. Interment will follow the service at Richland Cemetery in Dravosburg.
