Debra Ann "Boog" Klein

Debra Ann "Boog" Klein, of West Mifflin, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015, in her sista's loving arms. She was born Feb. 24, 1954, in Philadelphia, and was preceded in death by her father, William Klein; and brother, Kurt Klein. Deb is survived by her mother, Alice Morison Klein; brother, John (Robin) Klein, of Cape May, N.J.; sister-in-law, Patricia Klein, of Springfield, Pa.; seven nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews; and cousins, Jody and Sean. She is also survived by her Pittsburgh family, Deann Laughlin and their five canine babies, Douglas, Grace, Hannah, Izzy and Emma as well as the rest of her Laughlin sistas, brothers, nieces and nephews. Deb had a passion for learning and graduated from West Catholic High School in Philadelphia. She worked on the beach selling Fudgie Wudgie while working toward a medical technician degree before she and her family moved to Cape May, N.J. She came to Pittsburgh in 1974 and began her career at St. Joseph's Hospital, eventually moving on to work at Central Medical, Wecht Associates Pathology Lab, DeYor Labs and Mercy Hospital. During this time, she also attended Duquesne University working toward a physician assistant degree and Community College of Allegheny County where she received a degree in horticulture. Deb had the unique ability to sense who a person was and enjoyed making people laugh with her witty charm. In addition to being several people's phone-a-friend on Turner Movie Classics, Civil War history and useless trivia, she loved animals and human life. Deb was a dedicated American patriot, Steelers fan and Boog. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2015, at S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. Sixth St., Clairton, PA 15025. Service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the funeral home, with Father Charles Baptiste, of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, presiding. Please join the family in wearing your favorite Steelers gear on Friday, as "Klein" requested.
