Dawn C, Bishop

Dawn C. (Laverick) Bishop, 78, of Clairton, formerly of Perryopolis, died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Jefferson Hospital. She was born Jan. 23, 1936, in Jefferson Hills, to the late Stephen H. Laverick and Alice (Mehrmann) Laverick. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl C. Bishop (93). Dawn is survived by sisters; Delores Simpson, of Arlington Heights, Ill., Jean Barkand, of Charleston, S.C., Vivian Dewar, of Perryopolis, and Alice Bedsworth, of Clairton; brothers, Roy (Eileen) Laverick, of Monongahela, and Robert (Patricia) Laverick, of Forward Township; brother-in-law, John "Jack" Davies, of Pleasant Hills; and many nieces and nephews. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Anne Davies; and a brother, Carl Laverick. Dawn was a member of West Elizabeth Methodist and Perryopolis Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She was a secretary/accountant for Westinghouse Bettis for 40 years and worked as a real estate agent for Northwood for 10 years. Arrangements entrusted to S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th St., Clairton, PA 15025. Services are private. Inurnment will be at a later date in Round Hill Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors.
